The turkey poults have been ordered ready for Christmas and will arrive on the farm at the end of June!
They will be one day old and will be in our poult shed under heat lamps for the first few weeks.
The turkeys start off in cardboard rings with shavings as bedding, the reason for the rings is so there are no corners for them to get stuck in and so they are all contained close to food and water, as they grow we can increase the size of the rings. When they are around 2 weeks old they will have full run of the shed (They can now fly over the rings!) at around 3 weeks we will let them into their first outside paddock, provided the weather is good.
